Motorcycle Routes around Cincinnati

Ohio is central to many of the best motorcycle routes in the country, and there are plenty close in to Cincinnati. The Buckeye State offers up high-quality roads and destinations and is a veritable paradise for riders of all types. With country towns, twisty roads, and river journeys aplenty, the hardest time you’ll have is hitting them all!

SR 503 Roller Coaster

This route starts out in Monroe and takes riders west on SR 63 then north on SR 4 to Excello, west again on SR 73 through Trenton. The final leg is north on SR 503 all the way up to the end in West Alexandria at US 35. Overall, the route has a lot of pleasant country roads that run alongside the interstate. You’ll pass through southwestern Ohio for a rural farmland feel and get plenty of ups and downs as you traverse hills and curves. Perhaps best of all is reduced traffic and well maintained roads. You’ll have some small towns to stop in, like Monroe, Trenton, and West Elkton, as well as the endpoint of West Alexandria. 

SR 125 from US 68 to Shawnee

A great scenic ride east down SR 125, you’ll find rolling hills and farmlands with dips into and out of river valleys. That means plenty of nature and a rural feel, with steeper tree-lined roads past West Union and some panoramic views from ridgelines. At the east end of this ride you’ll find Shawnee State Park, which is a pleasant ride along streams and unspoiled wilderness. There’s good roads the length of the road. A few curves east of Blue Creek can give riders trouble if they aren’t careful. And you’ll find plenty of standard amenities along the route, with the addition of lots of campings spots near Shawnee.
