Nashville, TN truly is one of our favorite places to ride. Check out some of these routes we’ve outlined for you!
Old Hickory Road
This motorcycle route has riders swinging north of Nashville for interesting scenery and a ton of great roadside amenities. Start where I-40E and Old Hickory Rod meet at I-20 exit 221. Take Old Hickory Road northwest until it turns into Old Hickory Boulevard then on to I-12 to complete the trip. This route can be ridden from west to east as well, and both directions offer a mix of urban, suburban, and rural sights. Despite a feeling like you’ve ridden far away from where you started, you’ll never be more than a few minutes from downtown Nashville.
You’ll find a lot of easy curves between slower in-town traffic (depending on the time of day), and the rural roads have been paved relatively recently so you should have plenty of smooth, fresh asphalt to ride on. There are tons of roadside treats, including restaurants and other stop-offs.
River Road
The River Road route offers riders plenty of gorgeous scenery with high-quality roads and not much else to get in the way. From Nashville, head down I-40 West and take the Charlotte Pike exit until you hit River Road. Follow River Road north all the way up to Ashland City. Along River Road you’ll find windy turns and curves through the hills and get peeks of the Cumberland River.
Along those sweeping curves and tight turns, the general road condition is very good; however, be on the lookout for gravel after it’s rained. There are a few roadside amenities, including the standard gas stations and rest stops, with a few standout restaurants at the beginning of the route. Ashland City has plenty of additional places to visit, and it’s the perfect place to choose your next route toward adventure!
